to High-Performance Lineup
New 24V Models for V12E Series

The full scope of high-end performance offered by the UltraFlo® V12E M9 series of cooling fans is now available to 24V applications.

The addition of 10 new 24V vane axial models includes both free-running and feedback-governed, speed-stable versions that span the broad PQ operating range of the popular Nidec 120 x 38mm series. All are offered with a comprehensive array of monitor and control options.

On-line documentation of the expanded V12E series is available here:

One disadvantage is that the logic and sequencing of the transistor switches is more complicated. If the lateral pair of switches such as Q1, Q2 turn on simultaneously, then a catastrophic condition known as cross conduction will occur.

The simultaneous conduction of the lateral pair will put a short circuit across the input source.

The resultant current will induce failure in the transistor switches.

It is possible to obtain integrated Full Bridge drivers with self contained logic that will prevent this cross conduction condition; however, they are limited to generally less than 50 volts operation, therefore steering logic would have to be composed of discrete gates.

Other disadvantages include difficulty in sensing average motor coil voltage, sensing continuous motor current, and high parts count.
